Interest to Action: Photography and Boerne Real Estate Properties

You may not think you are a photographer. In fact, if anyone were to call you a photographer, you'd probably say that you aren't. However, how would you answer this follow-up question? Do you own a camera or have a camera on your mobile phone? The answer is most likely a resounding "of course!"

So, if you've ever taken a photo with your camera or camera-phone then congratulations, you ARE a photographer. But wait, don't pat yourself on the back just yet! Would you consider yourself a good photographer? While you'll have to answer this question a little more introspectively, the truth is that it doesn't matter whether or not you think you're good, but what others think about the photos you've taken.

Good photography is all about response. A well-approached, purposeful shot will generally produce an intended response from the viewer. Decades of images on TV, magazines, and the internet have conditioned both buyer and seller to expect powerful visual images. One of the more competitive fields that utilizes the concept of image response is the real estate market.

Naturally, sellers want good photos and images of their Boerne real estate properties. Additionally, prospective home buyers instinctively gravitate towards homes marketed with attractive visual images. In light of this, realtors would be wise to recognize photography as the most effective tool they have in catching a buyer's interest. It isn't enough to have a great price point, description of the property, or a willingness to showcase to buyers. Chances are, if a prospective buyer doesn't have a visual, or if the visuals are poor, the realtor will never get an opportunity to show the house or land, because the buyer will have never been interested to begin with.

If you're a realtor, or if you're a homeowner doing your own selling, keep in mind that how you present your listing visually to the public says a lot about how much you value not only the property, but a prospective buyer's time as well. Artfully crafted photos say "Hey, look at me! I'm worth your time! Wouldn't you like to see more?". Ultimately, quality photography will incite the preferred response that any realtor wants - for interested buyers to move beyond interest to action.

Boerne Homes Revel in “Market Day”

Boerne home, boerne luxury homes, Boerne homes

Anyone who has lived in Boerne, Tx for even a short length of time knows just how charming the city can be around the holidays. With lights adorning Boerne homes and the courthouse looking more like a lighthouse - brisk, late-night strolls are a neccesity. What is often overlooked about smaller towns is their ability to delight and entertain both residents and visitors alike.

One of Boerne's hidden gems of entertainment is its "Market Day".Market Days have become associated with memorable, outdoor shopping. The atmosphere attracts artists, craftsmen, and vendors showing off their latest creations and hand-made products. Add this list of exciting vendors to a lineup of some of the most entertaining local musicians and what you have is an experience that is uniquely "Bourne-esque".

Sure, Boerne isn't the first small Texas town to have street vendor days or market events, but one visit to "Market Day" will leave an impression that won't soon be forgotten. Like its Boerne luxury homes, there are bargains to be had on items like jewelry, local plants, collectibles, antiques, and much more. The crowded spirit is sure to take hold and enliven even the most ardent hagglers with a light, fun energy. You'll see and meet all sorts of people - from the focused shopper looking for something genuinely unique, music lovers catching a free performance, to a family just walking and taking in the activities.

Don't forget about the food! Great food with local flair is cooked up and prepared on the spot for eager mouths and hungry bellies. No plans this weekend? Come to Boerne Market Days Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm. See you there!

Gruene’s Music and Wine Festival

I wrote a previous blog post about Gruene's Music and Wine Festival this past weekend. Many of you emailed me, asking how we liked it, so I thought I would give you a quick overview.

The event was scheduled from noon to 6pm, but we didn't get there until 4:30pm, thanks to hubby dropping me off at Neiman's Last Call! Although we felt like we were running late, this was perfect timing!

Around 5pm it started to drizzle. The light rain cooled the tents off and cleared some of the crowd out. We were able to move around the large tent rather freely, even with the jogging stroller. There were probalby 40 wineries showcasing their wines and everyone was more liberal with their pours by the end of the day.

Chris and I ran into many other parents with strollers, even some with double strollers! After tasting all the wine we could handle, we sat at a picknick table outside and listened to live music. With all the wine that had been poured, everyone seemed to be feeling rather spirited and in a dancing mood! All of this made for great people watching. :)

Around 6:30pm, we walked over to the Gristmill for dinner. I had blackened redfish and Chris had a huge ribeye. Dinner was delicious and we made it home around 9:30pm. We will definitly be back next year!
